Characteristics of Step 3
Planning/Piloting Organization-Wide Records Management
Step 3, Planning/Piloting Organization-Wide Records Management,
finds the organization reaching the point of
planning for and conducting pilot tests
for electronic
records management (ERM), while continuing with paper records. Even
though it is the intent to use ERM throughout the program areas, some practical
experience must be gained and solid plans laid for introducing ERM.
Practices that characterize Step 3:
- A) Recordkeeping procedures and practices are operational, and have entered a periodic
review and update phase.
- B) Agency Records Officer establishes a monitoring program to document compliance
with procedures.
- C) ERM pilot project has been identified.
- D) Vital records plan is reviewed and routinely updated.
